From the publisher:
A book born out of the need to act and reflect on the ongoing situation in Gaza as well as putting this conflict in a historical context. On October 7 2023 Hamas soldiers from Gaza attacked Israel killing around 1139 Israelis, including 766 civilians and 38 children and more than 200 people were taken captive. Israel declared war on Gaza and responded with extensive air strikes that to this day (January 14, 2024) has taken more than 29,000 lives, the vast majority of whom where civilians, including over 10.000 children.
GZA On Land and Air book focuses on the current situation for the population in Gaza as well as the opening and closing of the Gaza International Airport, a symbol of hope for an independent state of Palestine, which is part of a pattern of hope and destruction in the Israeli- Palestinian conflict.
The history of the airport is told as a background to the ongoing genocide in Gaza where Hind Khoudary, a journalist in Gaza, tweets from October 7, 2023, to January 14, 100 days. Muhammad Shehada has written Gaza, Past, Present and Future putting the current situation in a historical context.
